Alimentation Couche-Tard is the leader in the convenience store industry and road transportation fuel retail in Canada, with a network of close to 2,200 stores from the Maritimes to Western Canada. This market is divided into three geographic business units. In its home province of Québec, the company operates under its flagship Couche-Tard brand, while the global Circle K brand is present in the other provinces.

Alimentation Couche-Tard has approximately 7,200 stores in the United States which are located in 47 states. The U.S. market is divided into 14 geographic business units. Most of the stores are operated under the global Circle K brand, although a number of stores still operate under the Holiday banner in the Northern Tier business unit. Circle K is the largest independent convenience store operator in the U.S. in terms of the number of company-operated stores.

In Europe and other regions, Alimentation Couche-Tard operates a network of approximately 5,300 full-service (convenience and fuel) and automated (fuel only) stations. The full-service stations are operated under the Circle K banner in Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden and Denmark), in the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), as well as in Ireland, and have an important presence in Poland. Alimentation Couche-Tard recently expanded to Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. The automated sites operate under the INGO banner in Sweden and Denmark. Alimentation Couche-Tard is also a wholesaler of transportation fuel and runs a large commercial fuels operation, including terminals and depots. In 2020, the company proudly expanded into the growing Asian market with the purchase of Circle K Hong Kong and it’s network of close to 400 convenience stores.

Alimentation Couche-Tard also has an international footprint of more than 2,100 Circle K stores in 14 other countries and territories ((Cambodia, Egypt, Guam, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jamaica, Macau, Mexico, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UAE and Vietnam). Most of these stores are operated under licensing agreements.
